I reckon Berbatov will get the last 25-30 minutes, just to offer something different later on.

Why can't we just play like that all the time? Seems so easy!

So unlucky, heck of a build up and fantastic shot by Nani.

Lol, I was just about to say the exact same thing. I think they will turn out to be two legendary signings like Evra & Vidic.

Can see both of them at the club for a long time to come yet great attitude from both of them anytime ive seen them in anything off the pitch.

Seem to be so down to earth and have kept there feet on there ground being two young lads at such a big club.

Have to hand it to Wigan there really giving it a go and there heads aint dropped after the goal either.

With out Van der sar in goals we could of been looking at a very different situation here so far.

If they play rest there games like this should stay up.

McCarthy would not be a bad option at all for Utd to bring in this summer.

I scoffed at this when it was suggested a year ago, I wouldn't be so dismissive now. Big potential.

Would be benificial to a poor Irish side too.
The lad seems to have what it takes and could be a cheap and young alternative to a big name midfielder.

I would be very happy with him and Modric. Not too dissimilar to a young Keane.

totally agree, if he improved that he would be unstoppable.

As good as he is, he's still likey to attempt to force a square peg into a round hole.

Fergie did not look happy with Rooney there

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,254 ✭✭✭shano_88

Rooney needs a drop kick to the face from SAF at half time.

    Harsh on Wigan.

Rooney seems to me anyway like his playing to get out of utd

Very poor first half by Utd .
Lacklustre, slow and extremely negative, very lucky to be ahead.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 21,235 ✭✭✭✭flahavaj

Take him off. Unacceptable display on and off the ball.

Wouldn't be surprised if Berba came on for Rooney at half time. Can't see Fergie taking the sort of attitude Rooney's got at the moment.

Where's he going to go now City have signed Dzeko?

He need's a kick in the hole but I'd say he'll be at United for another season or two.

Great goal again from Chico, what a top signing he has been for us!

Nani looking dangerous but is taking on few shots where passes would be better options

Vida has been excellent as usual so far, as has Smalling apart from one or two little moments of indecision.

VDS has been rock solid too.

    Rooney having a stinker :(

Off with him. He is an absolute disgrace out their today and does not deserve to wear the jersey. Sick of him tbh.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,512 ✭✭✭u140acro3xs7dm

Although Nani set up the goal if he had been a bit quicker in the head today we could have had a few more good opportunities. This is why he still frustrates people. Hopefully SAF will have a word with him because he has seen a lot of the ball and can destroy them if he makes the better decision.

I'd say Fergie has the hairdryer pointed right in Rooneys face right now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,245 ✭✭✭sofireland

Typically lethal finish from Chico, Rooney is a ticking time bomb, could the whole contract thing so we'd get decent money when we sold?

    Nani unlucky.

McCarthy looks a good prospect that's for sure

Would'nt be surprised if Fergie cashed in this Summer. He has been a disgrace in all honesty.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,985 ✭✭✭Essien

He doesn't look at all interested today, nor has he for most of the season. I think he's off in the Summer, I have since the transfer debacle a few months back.

Anyway, back to the match, United shocking lucky to be ahead here, Wigan need to take their chances though, they could have had a 1 or 2 already.

Badly need a second goal. dont trust us to keep a clean sheet even with VDS in top form. Rooney needs to get a boot up the ****

Rooney was piss poor a couple of seasons ago too but then he came back and gave his best ever season. when he is low on confidence he seems to drop very deep. Last year he was busting a gut to always get in the box but now he prefers the midfielders to get ahead of him.

Wigan have only scored one goal in the last seven matches againest United, it's unlikely they are going to get anything out there today.
