Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone can confirm if blueray discs bought in China will work on a player in Ireland. Is there region coding on blueray like dvd's?

They are fairly cheap here, around 7 euro's for a new release.

    Thanks,
    Neil.

We are region B, region free will show up as region 0 or will show ABC on the back of the cover.

no they dont - just to clarify. i have an Oppo BDP-93 and it is not region free. you still have to get the multiregion mod for it to play other region discs. the modkit is a piece of piss to install though

Thanks to the blu ray disc association they are not allowed to put these on the market if they want to sell their goods in the likes of the USA, even though with a mod they can be made blu ray region free. Amazon sell the 93 ready to go.

Moe I have just bought a 3D projector. I was looking at buying one of the following, Sony 580 when released the Oppo 93 or the Denon 2012. Can you tell me what you think of the 93 and do you use it for 3D. I am leaning to the Sony as it is excellent for wireless use and I will be replacing a 550 which was an excellent player. Thanks.

Note that china have adopted a standard called "China Blue" , which , though advertised and looking exactly like blue rays , are actually based on the defunct HD-DVD standard and wont play at all in standard BD players , modded or not.
