what software do i need?

i want to make up some promo posters and want to make a sports program/ booklet.
i need to lift parts of an image from one pic to another and i need to be able to put 2-3-4 + parts of an image onto one page and then place text over it. what program do i need i want something easy to use..

ideally id like to place a back ground then put diff people onto it along with text for info.
thanks in advance for feedback.

Open office draw or ....any desktop publishing software....i suppose microsofts Desktop publisher is good.

there nothing on my laptop and i got an microsoft advance paint but the crop tool only allows me to crop a square not the outline of a person if ya know what i mean

What you need is a desktop publisher. Have a look at PagePlus on the site. It is a freebie but limited. There is an excellent technical forum here from where you can get first class advice and ideas.

all the edidors i tryed allow me to crop but only a big square area. i cant manage to lift an image from the background.

am i missing something.

youll have to look at tutorials on how to crop custom shapes

Ill get back with an alternative image manipulator if nobody gets back soon. Id recommend using photoshop and PM me to use it after started!:D

i have figured how to use the tool where ya draw around a person and copy that image to a diff pic but i though i could simpley click on an image lift it and move it,,, very very confusing

You're not going to be able to just click on a shape and copy it unless it's a clearly defined shape with distinct edges and colours. Even then you'd need software that has a command similar to Photoshop's 'Magic Wand' tool, or the 'Magnetic Lasoo' tool.
