    hi,
i play in a galway band and never thought about paying tax on money made from gigs until a few pubs started saying there gonna be giving us cheques now instead of cash in hand.

is it very risky to just cash them without declaring them ?
also some of the band members are on social welfare so what are the complications there if i have to set up a joint account with all of them and decide to pay the tax on the cheque gigs?

any advice would be greatly appreciated
