Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

For football and sports shots I advise you go for a 70 - 200 f2.8 lens. I think it is above your budget new but look for a secondhand unit.

Funnily enough a telephoto lens is a good option for all three of your interests.
With motorsports and football you obviously need to get in close.

With landscapes you can do interesting things with compressing perspective.
This is often a lot more interesting than wide angle shots where you get big empty spaces.

I would go with that Sigma on that budget. I've heard great things about it. Half the price of the Nikon and apparently almost as good.

it'll be great during the summer/bright days ... but in low light conditions its unlikely you will get a decent image.

*it may be unlikely - but its still possible.

I don't know if there are any focus issues - sometimes the lenses can be slow to focus....and in low light these type of lenses tend to "hunt" ... meaning they seek and cant seem to lock the focus on a subject.
