Why do women wear make-up?

You're the perfect example of natural looking makeup doing its job well! (not that im saying you were a wreck before it obv!!). Still looks like the same person, isnt noticable or ''make-uppy'' looking, but healthier fresher and clearer. Most people looking at either photo would think that both are bare and natural. Kudos for proving the doesnt-have-to-be-oompa-loompa point.

Yeah that was my point alright, because I still think lots of men genuinely don't realise the difference between no make-up and natural-looking make-up. As I said earlier, my skin is fairly red (ruddy? :P) and blotchy, so I like wearing some foundation to even and smooth the tone out. It does its job nicely, I think.

This girl calls herself ugly but I don't think she is at all. I would describe her as pretty.

Because not all women are naturaly beautiful like Megan Fox & Olivia Wilde are. In terms of looks i think women have an advantage, they can cover up the ugly. Men however cannot, but at the same time men would have some what of an advantage to right? since men don't wear make up its far easy to tell a good looking guy from an ugly one.

What I find intriguing is that a lot of women use make up to attract men (myself included) but it is quite often the reverse with animals.

For example it is the male peacock with the bright colours to attract the female, in the animal kingdom it is often the males that are brighter and more beautiful and who need to compete for female attention.

Also, even if a woman went on a night out without any make up at all, I'm quite sure that she would have a much higher chance of pulling than a man would, I think it is much easier for women to attract men and the men are usually the ones competing.

So why haven't I thrown away my make up then? Because it makes me feel better if I wear it, I feel more confident and comfortable and I know that I look better with it on. I can leave the house without make up and I do sometimes but I'd rather wear it.

And I bet they've never been photographed without make-up so we don't know how naturally beautiful they are (ok they're definitely not gonna be ugly, but they might be just average-looking).

if you want better skin eat a better diet and drink more water. Its proably not good for the skin pores to have them covered most of the time. maybe someone should do an experiment, give up make up for a month and see how their skin adapts

I don't think the girl in the OP is wearing make-up but I do think she might be wearing fake tan.

If you really look after your skin with diet treatments etc., it's possible for most people to have it looking decent without make-up, but it may require kinda living like a saint.

Absolutely no way is she ugly. I think that video is an ironic commentary on the lengths women go to to make themselves sexy - ironic that its presenter is pretty with a great body. :pac:
