Has any one noticed high pings when doing tests on www.pingtest.net?
I have average 3ms ping to any irish host, but when doing tests to pingtest.net using their Galway or Dublin servers pings are always more than 180ms! Jitter is always good though, 3-7ms.

    Seems strange.

3ms seems unrealistic but I'd be happy if like you I was getting 180ms unless you were playing some game to a really high level.

Should you want a comparison, when I ping google I've 64ms avg and 12% packlet loss and on pingtest.net it's:

But my connection is **** so it's invalid really.

3ms seems off. you would be lucky to get that sort of ping response from your own modem never mind an external one.

    60ms or so is fine.

Unrealistic Eh...were connected directly into DEG in Dublin via Fibre and peering with several others there, hence the low ping response times.

Google is never a good site to ping as you could be pinging any of their servers around the world.

Its best to stick to known Irish ones like Boards,Rte, etc

I get this, but I using wifi in another room. The only time I worry about ping is if it's over 100ms while playing a shooter online.
