Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

If the pc is set to connect to the router automatically is there a possibility that a virus/malware will get in before av/security progs etc loaded?

Usually the network connection is loaded once the OS is fully loaded so the AV progs should already be running then.
I guess it depends on the OS and also whether it's something outside trying to get in, or something inside trying to communicate out.

What OS are you running and what AV/FW?

no. windows will load the firewall and antivirus before initializing your network connection.

Also Alot of AV'S have an early boot option also which will load the Antivirus early in the boot process. Make sure you have this option checked if you have this feature. The chances of what you are describing though is very slim.
