    IE is crap as it is, the college one just seems to be particularly bad.

    You can download portable versions of chrome and firefox from portableapps.com and a few other sources that a quick google search will provide. Just save it to usb or X drive, they're both pretty small, esp chrome.

    Firefox Portable - Chrome Portable

    I've used both from USB and X: drive and they work really well :D

    I think the issue might be iframes. you can't access ie settings as its restricted so its just a guess. btw normal chrome will install fine too on the pcs, just wait for it to resolve proxy when it first loads

    crashs on sites? hellz yeah I think it sucks but I haven't seen any major problems with it for day to day college needs... that portable apps is deadly! Very handy to setup, been using it since last semester and I love it longggg time ;D

    now the firewall being seemingly amped up lately.. for that I have a special different category of reserved hatred -_-

    didn't notice that - it used to worse imho, couldn't even download .exes off the portable apps site at one stage :mad:

    The wireless firewall is borderline retarded at this point. You cant download anything over 70mb and it blocks pages based on a "weighted phrase limit".

    I can understand that they want to block porn and such but I couldnt get onto arstechnica the other day.

    * angry fist*
