Electrician certifying their own house.

I worked with an electrician last year who wired his own house and certified it himself. He said that as long as you are a qualified electrician you are allowed to certify your own dwelling. He said he contacted RECI for a once off cert. Is this still the case?

yes they will send out an inspector , costs about €350 i think
