Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi
Thinking of investing in an entry flash kit. Unfortunately Elichrom, Bowens and the like are way out of budget for a while, after splashing out on a 7D. However i have had a look at these two below, which seem to be fairing out ok in the reviews when comparing bang for your buck!!
    Any ideas?

I full appreciate these are chinese build etc but just to start off somewhere!!

I have the interfit home studio kit. Came with twin lights, stands, softbox and umbrella. Great kit for a home studio and it won't break the bank. Was about £230 inc delivery from warehouse express

eBay do good starter kits, based in the UK

Have you done much studio work with a flashgun + reflectors?

Definitely something worth getting the hang of before goin on to a full kit

You can get into the Elinchrom system with a D-Lite 2/4 Umbrella kit for about €550 and relax in the knowledge that you have quality kit and can grow into the system (like buying a Canon body instead of a Sigma).

I have the elinchrom D4 kit and it is fantastic. I use it on a lot of my shoots ( www.richie.ie )

You are better off to try and save for the better kit. It will be worth it in the long wrong.

The Lencarta Safari lights seem to be getting good reviews. Portable flash which take Bowens S-Bayonet accessories.

You have to factor in the cost of the battery pack with a flashhead but you can use them indoors or out and you can get over 1,000 flashes at full power from a battery.

    Here's a link:

    Just google them.

They are fairly reasonably priced too.

    Hi Guys
After talking to Paddy Barker in Cork i have ordered a set of 200Watt Interfits for about 350 euro so not bad, the Elinchroms were going to set me back 595 euro so had to run with the cheaper option as i dont see myself having a lot of use for them for a while at least. Hopefully they will get me up and going until i find i need the Elinchroms, then it will be eBay or Donedeal for the Interfits. Thanks for your help guys!!
