Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Is anyone using the Nike+ iPod transmitter?

Do you have to get Nike runners with it , or can you put the sensor into any pair of running shoes?

Its been a while since I used it, but you don't need Nike+ runners. Options:

*Take out insole from shoe, cut a small channel in base and insert (not great for your shoe)
*Undo the stitching from the tongue, insert sensor, sew back up.
*(What I found best) Double sided velcro, heavy duty, to back of sensor, and shoe tongue under the laces.

In all cases, make sure the sensor is flat (I think you must have the nike logo facing upwards too). Accuracy isn't great with these things, they're a bit of a gimmick, but certainly they're a fun way to track your runs when starting off. Calibrate them periodically to increase the accuracy.

    thanks for the info,

would you recommend anything similar to the nike+ that relatively cheap and does a good job ?

not keen on getting the nike+ if it's no good...

    thanks

A Garmin GPS is a far better way of measuring/logging your runs, loops, distances, elevation, speed, etc., and a good investment. The 305 Forerunner is currently £105 over on amazon, with a heart rate monitor included. There's a resident Garmin clown geek on this forum who will answer any question you have about them (see this thread).
