No, that's between the toes, there's spray for that.
this is the bottom of the feet, they look fine, no broken skin, fine all day but then go mad when I lie down,

Hows the blood sugars and your control?

Something like this is what prompted me to go to the doctor pre diagnosis. Started off like this, before evolving into neuropathy, feet burning and tingling, constant "pin prick" like sensations, restless legs, lack of feeling in parts. I couldn't sleep with any blankets or sheets over my lower legs and feet at all.

Kind of stay between 6 and 11, theres no tingling just itchy,

Paraffin creme is good for the dry skin if there's bumps or hotspots maybe call your GP or chiropodist if you have one, try not to pick at or remove the skin yourself if there is any damage it could start a cycle.

Literally loads of things it could be and a lot of them not Diabetes related, worth talking to a health specialist, none that I can think of are dangerous, just annoying but most are fairly solvable.

Haven't really posted much but got some good news today. Diagnosed in May with a hba1c of 150+ and glucose at 28 on admission which is not great to say the least. Had my 6 month checkup 2 weeks ago and brought a printout of my fasting sugars - averaging about 5.8 over 2 months. I had forgotten to get my bloods done so got them today. Renal all within range and more importantly my hba1c is 38. Even my random glucose was 8 and that was not long after breakfast.

So very happy. Still on 1000mg of Metformin twice a day but that's because I didn't have my hba1c figures. Think they're going to reduce it now that I'm well within range. Looks like my dietary changes and exercise are doing the trick. Now I've just to keep that focus.

They're free under the Long Term Illness scheme in absolutely every pharmacy in Ireland.

why are you paying for them? you can get them for free on the LTI scheme.

Sorry meant to say it is Gestational diabetes. Was told it wasn't covered under LTI scheme.

they seem to run from about €28 upwards. the cost should count towards your DPS total for the month.

I am currently on a low risk lifestyle, I have no problem with eating less than 5%. I have been eating more and less, I will be eating less again. I will continue to eat less, and I will still be eating more. I have a low blood pressure and am taking medication to help me. I am not sure how much of a risk I am taking with less than 3%. I am also using a low dose of medication, I am using medication that is not taking part in my diet. I think I have more problems with eating more than 3. I'm not sure if I am doing it wrong or not. I was just wondering if there is a reason for this.

Asking for a mate..i think he is 6.5 something..he got a trial recently and loved it and said its very costly but very effective..hence checking if any drug scheme can be availed to get it

I don't think the Libre is covered for Type 2s, not sure its even covered for type 1s who didn't already have it anymore. You can use the cost of it towards the DPS, which means if you buy alot of meds, it might max out do you aren't spending too much but someone else will have to clarify that.

The Libre is only available to T1s under 21 on the LTI. Your diabetic team can make an application to get over 21s approved for it. A few have been successful in being approved but I understand the criteria is quite strict. As far as I know it’s not covered by the DPS but you can claim the VAT back on it via Revenue.ie.

So folks.. has anyone had continual crazy high results on a OneTouch Verio Reflect? I was given the Verio by the practice nurse at Beaumont

What I'm seeing is the OneTouch Verio Reflect reporting ~2 mmol/L above freestyle libra (when I pony up the 70 yoyos to see how I am doing) or a Relion Premiere Blu (which I purchased while I was waiting for my appointment) - on *every* reading. Obviously I've used new test strips, but something feels off!

has anyone experienced this with i) their testing units or ii) OneTouch Verio Reflect

I use a contour next as well as a freestyle libre and the libre usually reads a bit above the contour next.

Because the libre measures intertestial fluid and the finger prick measures blood, I'd always trust the finger prick to be more accurate than the libre.

I have seen reports, I think here, and on twitter, that the OneTouch simply is always off higher than every other reader going. I haven't had one in years and so can't comment but you would appear not to be the only one having this issue. Maybe ask your clinic can you get a Contour Next or similar.

Hi folks, Posted here over the past year or so, basically pre diabetic, fasting bloods around 7. Low carb diet seems to flatten it out a little, have been on Berberine and chromium the past week, seen what looks to be very small drop to around 6.6. Anyone here tried these.

Hi, I've tried both simultaneously and separately with very little impact. Although I should say I was just over the benchmark of being diabetic. At the time I was managing my diabetes through diet and exercise. I'm now on insulin, honeymoon is over but exercise and water intake are crucial for me managing my sugars. Good luck ðŸ‘

Yep. One Touch Verio always reads insanely higher. Anything from 1 to 3 points higher, in fact. I had to get rid of it, and found lots of similar complaints online.
