Destacker fault - Horizontal Polarities

I'm beginning to lose patience with a stacker/ de-stacker unit that was fitted roughly a year ago and has until yesterday been faultless. The system entails of 2 Sky HD boxes fed from a quad lnb using an 80cm dish, A destacker unit was deployed to feed one of the Sky HD boxes, all cabling is PF100.

The strange fault is all the vertical polarities work at 99% quality, the other Sky HD box is 99% quality and working perfectly. If i take the PSU for the destacker and plug it in, it sends the Sky HD box haywire. If i check 301 (Sky Movies) for example on a horizontal polarity it will not run the second feed. I have changed the de-stacker unit, checked the lnb, the dish is fine and stacker behind the dish is perfect all registering acres of signal before and after. Either one of the boxes tuners is wrecked, the destacker is shorting the box or vice versa but then why is this not affecting the channels on vertical polarities. This fault would normally imply weak signal at the dish or severe cable losses but Vertical High and Horizontal Low are all returning 99% quality.

    Any thoughts appreciated...

The only thing you haven't changed is the stacker?

Is there any chance one of the HD boxes is a Thomson?
