Rube, I'm told by the wise one that you need to buy a plug-in RCD device thingy. Apparently, it plugs into the socket and plug in yer hedge trimmer. This will protect you for getting fried by the live cable and protect your house circuits as well.

I have three already, I just forgot all about them.

Mrs gf tells me that we have a device in the recesses of the shed called a "clippers". Anybody know anything about these"?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,551 ✭✭✭Rubecula

saw online a black rum called the Kraken, and no I m not here to promote drinking, hever when I bought some it was so dark I was terrified to try it.

I finally gave in and tried it he other week. I have had three drinks of it so far and I like it very much. Must remember though that it is not a drink to quaff as it is potent.

Happy accidents can turn bad if you are not careful.

I presume my tsk was for my use of the singular indefinite article with the plural noun.

I accept the tsk on bended knee.

Good to hear from you OG - it's been a while.

Must I elaborate on my tsk then? All right. You may choose from "STREUTH" or "Lord, give me strength", depending on which hemisphere you come from. :P

Ummm. There is an area of the Northern hemisphere roughly bounded by lat 53.337 and 53.586 and lon -6.120 an -6.437 in which the appropriate exclamation would be: "JAYZUS".

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,108 ✭✭✭Jellybaby1

As some you know I run a music group/thread on faceache and it is genuinely good fun ... until yesterday evening ...
some body with a long impossible name posted a photo of what looked like an IED in the group. I phoned the police about it sat down for a bite to eat and then the door was hammered into submission by two of the biggest coppers I have ever seen armed to the teeth. Came in, questioned me and went through my computer like a dose of salts.

Now I have been going through all my group members with a fine toothed comb checking each and every one. only another 500 to go (aprox as my eyes are too tired to do any more.) be careful out there guys.

without a car round here I am stuffed big time.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,660 ✭✭✭Alice1

Why will it take to the end of the month? Can you get the oul can of oil out and rev up yer push bike?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,551 ✭✭✭Rubecula

work is quite big Alice and the garage need to get parts ordered also they are busy and mine was not pre booked.

not able to ride a pushbike due to medical reasons.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,660 ✭✭✭Alice1

Ah Rube, that's very disfortunate (my new word) Is there another garage that could do it sooner?

Another idea but probably useless, might your insurance company assist with a car rental?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,637 ✭✭✭✭OldGoat

Forget the car. Spend the repair money on this instead.

Would you look at the dust in here, no-one been in in ages, they are all off at that quiz thing. I'm going to give it a quick buzz round with the hoover and a bit of a dust, then put the kettle on. Tea anyone?

Can't find OG's cabinet, did he take it with him? Well you'll have to bring your own beer. Or whatever you are having. I think the oul fellas find the beer a bit gassy, I've gone right off it. Not that I was a big beer drinker, preferred wine, but now I'd have a drop of brandy if it was offered. Think I would prefer a cup of tea to be honest.

I got myself a new motor, a Toyota hybrid, very nice! Very economical on petrol and now I have got used to the automatic gears I wouldn't go back! So what else is happening, any news anyone?

ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz sniffle *yawn* oh hi there Looksee, how's about a cuppa?

My passat has a hole in the exhaust so I decided to get a small car as a local runaround, eventually bought a semi utomatic Mercedes. great little car but not too comfy on a lomg trip.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,034 ✭✭✭garancafan

Congrats on the new hybrid (what does the "ota" bit refer to?)

I'm just having a fish 'n' chip supper after the last opera in Wexford and a high quality fireworks display on the quays.

Flaked out. Not sure I can be bothered to struggle into the PJs - may just sleep in the Tux.

*snickers* not very well *tops up an empty gin bottle with tap water*
A wee bit wet for London dry, why there is no rum I will never know but OG's taste has always been suspect.

On Friday, I got my award for having given 50 donations of blood. Nice.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,921 ✭✭✭✭looksee

I used to be a regular donor but then became 'undesirable' :D when I was 25.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,551 ✭✭✭Rubecula

I gave gallons of the stuff but never got anything apart from the odd custard cream lol

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,660 ✭✭✭Alice1

There are quite a few restrictions - sometimes the blood is for the tiny premature babies.
