Looks like the guys definitely won't be invited along now anyway.

Don't need an invitation. I'll be the guy skulking in the bushes with the thick glasses, stained anorak and flask of lukewarm soup...

Java's new seating arrangements make it much more difficult to be inconspicuous when eyeing up groups of ladies at other tables. I'm going to need another guy to come with me so we can maintain the pretence of a conversation while perving. Volunteers?

It seems that sunshine22 read Pathro's message about meeting "tomorrow" but didn't realise it had been posted on Friday, and that lollypops85 assumed that sunshine22 was correct in meaning tomorrow. If the meet does happen, the two wrongs will have made a right...

I'm confused, did this take place in Javas on Saturday then or what?

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,033 ✭✭✭Ficheall

    I don't think so...
Tomorrow is looking more likely, though no one has set a time, which will make things very difficult.

Here is a random clock time generator which may be of some use.

Ok will we try to organise something in Java's for tomorrow?

If I say we will be meeting at 7 provisionally based on people able to attend?

Would it not be reasonable to keep that particular arrangement to PM then? It's perfectly understandable not wanting to take the risk of inviting all the internet's weirdos along, but vague references to this private arrangement in the public thread, besides confusing things somewhat, are rather discourteous to those who you're evidently not inviting. I'm not stuck for people to hang out with and would only be attending out of curiosity, but I'd imagine that someone who actually wanted to use the thread for the intended purpose might not be best pleased to hear about this party that they're not invited to. Just a thought.

The bookclub meets every second Tuesday after 8.30pm in the Cottage Bar in Salthill. Feel free to turn up for a chat about books, Galway or whatever else whether or not you've had a chance to read that week's book.

Next meeting is Tuesday 14th at 8.30pm and the book is Nights at the Circus by Angela Carter.
