Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hello all,

As the title says, i looking to for tips a decent places to stay for a couple of nights in Ballyhoura In April.

I have read up on the thread from awhile back:Ballyhoura Trails (Accomodation)

I have looked at the self cattering log cabins but they are way to expensive. So prob B&b or MTB friendly hotel in the area. Has to be in staggering distance of the pub - one which is good enough craic!

    Thanks in advance

Can't vouch directly for b&B but there are two thousand six hundred pubs(about:)) in the village of kilfinnane which is five mins drive from trails.

I work in the area and there are actually loads of places to stay; b&b's, hotels, etc.
www.ballyhouracountry.com hosts all the accommodation in the region

    We stayed here before
    http://www.ballyhouraforestluxuryhomes.com/
Grand spot, easy cycling distance of the trails by taking the shortcut through the woods at the bottom of the place, there is even a hose for cleaning off bikes!

And if you are with O2 there is 20% off!

That and get a couple of other people to go along then the cost goes right down & you have a better crack!

I noticed a sign for Ballyhoura at Mallow station the other day, or was it Chariaville?

How far is it from the Train Station??

Gonna give woodview b&b a shot. €30 squid for b&b not bad at all. Will report back on outcome mid April!

    Ahoy hoy.

Well woodview done the job as far a b&b's go. Good breakfast and the beds where comfy.

Done the red loop and was bloody tough! 6 hours an the saddle between stops etc. Well worth it but will be in no rush to do it again.

Excellent facilities at ballyhoura, will defo be back at some stage.

@dario28, I dunno if you ever got to the Ballyhouras but Deebert House Hotel in Kilmallock for the weekend, nice little town, half hour drive from Limerick. Great Food Fair on BH Monday and also a massive mart with lots of stalls to wander around................
