get into the city and head to amiens street. continue up through the north strand and ballybough. just keep going straight and you will pass fairview park on your right. when you get to the row of shops opp. the park look out for bank of ireland and fairview library. take a left after these onto the malahide road and keep going, you will see kavanaghs pub on the right and graingers pub a bit firther up. go by graingers and go through the lights.
mount temple is just a bit up on the right

alternativly come off the m50 onto the n32 and turn right at the hilton onto the malahide road and keep going for about 10 minutes. once you pass a big church (donnycarney) mount temple is down the slight hill immediatly after clontarf golf and bowling club

This is the best and most direct way to go if you want to avoid the city.

I would have gone this way tbh:

    http://maps.google.ie/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=Cork&daddr=53.3829737,-6.2441137+to:Malahide+Rd&geocode=FRDmFwMd0b1-_ylhub6RCJBESDHQxTGXqccACg%3BFT2PLgMd77ig_ymx4cihPg5nSDEAQs77pscAEw%3BFXBZLgMdeAqh_w&hl=en&mra=dvme&mrsp=1&sz=14&via=1&sll=53.39116,-6.226158&sspn=0.033884,0.090895&ie=UTF8&t=h&z=14

only slightly different, but IMO better signposted and just easier for someone not familiar with the City.
