    I am planning on buying the blackberry curve 8520, is it a good idea or am i wasting money ?

    Well i find them brilliant , iv had a curve the last 3 years and i work on building sites etc and its still going perfectly .
    I got the girlfriend the 8520 for christmas and its perfect once you get used to using it you will find them good, battery i find is excellent .
    I would advise getting a case for you phone preferably a proper blackberry one , they really help against scratching etc.
