Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Strikeforce: Feijao vs. Henderson, 5th March

    Main Card

Not a great card on paper it has to be said. Manhoef is always fun to watch and I think the main event will be interesting. I don't rate Feijao that highly but I think Henderson can still hang with the best of them. Masvidal and Evangelista are journeyman fighters really but you never know with Strikeforce, one of them could be looking at a title shot of some kind if they win.

I've never seen Carmouche fight before but I've seen Coenen and she's decent. I'm probably looking forward to this fight the most because women's fights, when they become really messy and scrappy, are fun as hell to watch.

Anyone else staying up for this?

    Forgot this was tonight.

If Manheof can avoid getting chocked out I fancy him to win this. He has been prone to chokes and arm bars in the past. Kennedy has more than one win via rnk.

Not much of an opener, hopefully Manhoef brings his Mike Tyson impression in the next fight.

Kennedy / Manhoef was muck. SF is getting worse and worse.

I would hazard a guess that the referee is Rich Franklin's brother :pac:

Ken Shamrock calls Babalu Sobral "Sobalu Babral".

Has to be the highlight of a so far very crappy event.

    Was it Ken or Frank?

Ken is apparently due to fight Tank Abbott, 15 years too late.

If Tank hits him a couple of times, Ken will have trouble saying his own name...

Ha I called it in the second post didn't I , man I should have put a bet on method of win on that one.

Ladies as usual put on fight of the night imo.

    Delighted for Hendo !!!!!!

Pretty poor event in fairness. I thought Masvidal/Evangelista would be a bit of a war but it was anything but. Kennedy/Manhoef reminded me of Couture/Toney. Kennedy just did what he needed to do, boring as hell though. Women's fight was a war as usual. Feijao wasn't convincing at all apart from the shot he landed in the first, he looked very lethargic on the ground and paniced in the exchanges standing. Great finish from Hendo, though.

Lads, I know i'm always having a go at the SF commentary team, but how and why do these gimps keep getting away with being sh1te?!

Firstly, who the hell is Mauro Renallo to criticise Jorge Masvidal for being smart and not "going for the finish"?

Also, are they told to try to convince the viewer at home that SF is the only show in town? Are they told to exaggerate the fighters, the records, their history? At one point, Frank Shamrock said Henderson was "on the cusp of winning every major title this sport has to offer".

Frank, you must've missed the time he challenged for the UFC LWH title and lost........... oh and the time he challenged for the UFC MW title and lost............ oh and the time he challenged for the bloody STRIKEFORCE MW title and lost, you only f*cking commentated on the fight! Why don't they just be honest? Hendo has achieved enough in MMA without having to make stupid statements like that!

I dunno, I kind of like the way Strikeforce is a bit silly and light-hearted.

I do think Mauro has the most ridiculous fake deep accent though.

Bolded: There is your answer, he is a commentator and has every right to comment on fighters, it is his job.

Underlined: Again, you have supplied the answer. He challenged for all those titles, hence he was "on the cusp" of winning every major title (within his weight divisions). You cannot dispute that, it is a fact which you have certified.

I love Mauro, guy is hilarious and you just got take it in a light hearted spirit. He may not be as in depth in MMA as Joe Rogan but he is funny as hell. Now, who wants KO's for Christmas?

No no no, Frank was saying THAT NIGHT Hendo was on the cusp of winning every major title! As if, if he won, he'd have held every major title!

    Here's the actual quote:

"In baseball you've got the Triple Crown, in Tennis you've got the Grand Slam, well Dan Henderson is on the cusp of becoming the first man in MMA to win every major title this sport has to offer"

Its amazing how many people forget the old tournament winners. Although it wasnt the middleweight title since Frank Shamrock had the belt then. And defended it that night I think
They forget Sakuraba is a UFC champion too!
