Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Where is all my space gone?

Hi, I have a relatively new laptop with a 160GB HD and have 45gb of music on it. I am down to only 8GB of free space left on my disk and I don't know what is taking up all of my other remaining space. I have no movies or any other big files on my laptop so not sure how I can free up space. I have tried a 'disk clean up' but this has not free'd up much space. Anyone know what might be taking up so much room, and how I might get rid of stuff I do not need.

    Thanks

There is a little app you can download called windirstat which shows you graphically what is using up the space on your hardisk, i think its a handy little one. The other option is just in explorer check the sizes of different folders, see what biggest and check in that, bit more tedious but you should be able to narrow it down

Install and run CCleaner, it's currently #17 on the 'Most Popular' on www.download.com (200,000 downloads last week) and it's free.

Have you checked how many system restore points you have.
You could also reduce the amount of space required by system restore (its usually set at about 12%)

Yeah I'd say that would be the first place to start... You can also download free tools like TreeSize which will help you to identify where the big files are...

Or you could run a simple file search for files greater than 20,000KBs ..

    CCleaner should do the trick.

Also make sure it doesn't have two partitions setup!
