Carrick Davins man Lee Mackey has been brought into the Tipp senior hurling squad, best of luck to him.
And good luck to him. Im a Swan man myself and its absolutely ridiculous that the Swan and the Davins havent joined up. At least underage. They would have a few more county titles. Thats for sure!

I'm a swan man myself but I don't think it's ridiculous that we haven't joined up in fact I am completely opposed to an amalgamation. This argument might have some merit if both teams were struggling to field teams or struggling to compete...but Swan are south champions and the Davins were extremely unlucky not to be in the final with them last year. There's too much history and bitterness for it to be a clean joining anyway imo. Well maybe that's just my opinion :p

Tipp under 21s are rumoured to be up against their intermediates tonight, if you happen to be at it premierstone, let us know how it goes.

It went ahead alright, didnt get to it but was talking to two of the U-21 lads after, Intermediates won handy enough.

Best for U-21s were John O'Neill and Ruairi Gleeson and best for the Intermediates I believe was Joey McLoughney - I was getting a slightly lobsided view :D

The Intermediates have a serious looking team and will be very hard to beat this year, personally I dont think anyone will come close to them!

I see ur point alright Jamie, but i think that alot more south and county medals could be in the town if it happened. I mean players from the Swans and he Davins are good friends and most of them socialise together. I think the bitterness is coming from the "old stock" in the clubs. And i definitely think they should be joined up as far as u-16 anyway, and see how it goes. IMO

If it's medals the Davins are after, they should have a look here:

Does anyone know where I can find a list of inter-club transfers for March. The april transfers are on the site at the moment.

I think that's them all upto april so March would be included... That's the way it was in previous years anyway.

Theres a small few who mix alright but for the most part there's a bit of a divide on nights out!

Old stock? Doubt it tbh...I'm only 20 years of age and I have the same mentality as looder who so beautifully stated "I'd rather a kick in the stones on a cold wet morning" :p

Could someone send me on a site that will be showing the tipp games online. It's one of the downsides to being on the other side of the world, the auld lack of rte and all that. I dunno if the wexford game is on the box or not but like anyway if ye know of a site for the future it would be very much appreciated. Up the premier!

I believe Tommy Stapelton meant to be playing out of his skin too. Heard as well as Mackey, Willie O'Dwyer from Carrick was called up.

Poor enough game in Thurles today,Tipp were very poor in the second half esp the forwards.Wexford missed a few good chances which could have won the game for them,Paudie Maher had another great game for Tipp and Conor O Mahony played well.

Totally agree, When Shane Mcgrath went off i feel we totally lost our way. John O'Brien was superb. I Feel sorry for young Carey as nothing seems to be going right for him.

Im not a fan of the new jersey i have to say but that is probably because i was hoping for a more retro simplistic effort. i am not a fan of the current shirt but having stopped the drive for 5 it has grown on me over time. To answer Tippspur's question, it is genuine as the shirt was put up on the window in some shop in Cork and Denis Hurley from PITJ.com took it from there

Yeah the halfbackline will prob be Sherlock, Stapelton and McLoughney, that is a serious halfback line for Intermediate level.

Cant help feeling myself Tom that the shirt was designed around the sponsor more then the team but for the money on offer (€200k pa) i suppose you couldnt blame the co board.

I was at minor game last night between Waterford and Tipp. Waterford were worth their win in my opinion but Tipp drove some sinful wides.
Best for Tipp were Fennelly, Meagher, Hamill and Forde

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,057 ✭✭✭tippspur

I was at the Minor match aswell, very disappointing performance from Tipp I have to say.forwards were poor apart from Liam Mc Grath, our shooting was poor through out the game,Jason Forde is a very good prospect and so is Tomas Hamill at wing back,we will have another crack at it in two weeks time against Cork probably, lots of improvement is needed if we are to get to a Munster final.

ah looder i was at the match. very disappointing to see the swan give away a 7 point lead, ten minutes into the second half. I would have made the substitutions earlier. But anyway, they are still looking ok for a semi final spot , i think.

I'm out of the country myself so didn't get to see it. I'd no internet or mobile all day Sunday. It was torture trying to find out who won.

Heard they were lucky in the end though.

If we beat Mullinahone we're nearly guaranteed a Semi final spot.

If Killenaule beat Davins, Davins are in bother. However, if Davins beat Killenaule, Killenaule are as good as out I'd say which would mean that Swans are basically through if they beat Ballybacon.

they would at least be hoping to get to a south semi anyway, considering they are south champions.

very quiet run in to the big game lads... any thoughts on the team?

two spots up for grabs only really imo, wing back and one spot in the forwards if you go for larry, eoin, noel, john-o and bonnar.

    what ye think?

young/o'keefe for the wing back spot

    callinan possibly for the forwards?

    Will
