    Hi,

we're a small family business and our brother in-law/uncle is revamping our website for us.

He's basing it all on Joomla, using one of their templates, putting in place the shopping cart and integrating realex for credit card purchases. We will update the content and fill in the products for the shop ourselves.

I know it might be a how long is a piece of string question but what would a piece of work like this normally cost?

Us all being family, he won't suggest a figure.

Piece of string but could be €200-5000 depending on what he does (particularly low end if it's a template with no customisation; high end if he does graphics customisation, data entry, etc).

You could pay a lot more than €5000 for Joomla & Virtuemart.

I know a company that paid €14,000 and it's only a catalogue site on a barely customised template.

OP It's impossible to answer the question without knowing how much development and customisation was involved.
