Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hey all,

Been a while since I've been to a big-venue gig, so I thought I'd share what I got from the Choice Music Awards last week. I havn't included most bands, as some were not exactly as visually exciting as the others. Also because as there was no pit, I was on my knees with about 8 other photographers in the same spot for the two songs each band played. Really bandied up the auld knee at it, but I think I've got some pictures that made it worth the pain!
Here's a picture of the space we had (between the stage and the front row of seated punters there... Easily less than a foot and then you've peoples knees' in that space too. Madness

Great shots, doesnt suprise me how little room you have to work in. Photographers are usually an afterthought (if even that) when the layout of anything is concerned

Yeah - there's a hole in the middle of the Olympia's pit. Big drop there too! Nearly found that out the painful way, until I was caught by a security guard.

It amazes me how few few Irish venues have spotlights, or indeed any light, other than those on the stage. Everything is backlit as a result. Tripod and Vicar Street are probably the two exceptions - it's not a great country for gig photography, when you think about it.

Shots look great, processing is spot on and the angles on them fit really well. I love when work or a set of pictures fits together either by processing/content/cropping or in this case all three

    Cheers Borderfox.
Was the first time I tried a new idea with the processing, so it's great to hear it works from someone else!

    Thank you!

Great shots of Adebisi Shank, especially since the lads move so bloody fast and never stay still during their whole set :pac:

You're telling me. I took over 100 pictures during the first song and had only about 10 usable ones. The lights were all over the shop and they lamp about like lunatics.

Cathy Davey was a much calmer affair!:D
