What would be his reasoning behind that?

Are you trying to be smart? We don't know why it happened. All we know is God allowed it, He permitted it to happen. Maybe it was just like a natural disaster? If it serves as a wake up call for all of us who have not repented of our sins to maybe consider that one day we will all die and we will be judged.

It's not destroyed, just shaken up a bit, don't believe everything you read in the news :pac:

After the September 4th earthquake, there was much debate on this issue from certain sections of the community, many claiming that one of the reasons was the legal status of prostitution, on the grounds that one of the worst hit streets in the city centre was the one that the ladies of the night are most likely to be found.

The other side of the debate pointed out that a lot of churches were badly damaged too and that gods had nothing to do with it. This time round, though, it's even more churches, including the iconic Christchurch Catherdral.

    I blame the Moon, personally.

That doesn't answer the question, it instead says stop asking it.

Thread closed to prevent further silliness.

0verblood, if you really want an answer (and I'm going to suggest that the Apophis thread you started probably covers some of the same ground) then I would advise you to first look up the definition of theodicy (if you don't already know what it means that is) and keep going from there.

People like Tim Keller, Os Guinness and Peter Kreeft are but a few who have attempted to give answers to a question that probably has no one satisfactory answer.
