Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi everyone,

I just accepted a job offer in Oxford and have a few things I could use some advice on if ye don't mind. I am flying out next week and was wondering if anyone could recommend any good sites for finding a place to rent. I've been on gumtree but nearly everywhere is taken or is looking for a female, etc... I've also been on dailyinfo and got a number to call when I land but would like to have a few more options. I was also wondering if anyone knows whether it would be possible to open a bank account over there without an address.

    Thanks guys!!

Some other websites to try for UK rent places:
    www.rightmove.co.uk
    www.findaproperty.com
    www.primelocation.com

Have you tried googling estate agents in the area? Most agents over here do selling and rental.

    Opening accounts can be difficult.

Depending on the job, (well done) you could ask your employer to use their address as a "care of". They may have a Bank that they recommend, or indeed, have a client relationship manager that could sort you out.

You'll need passports, driving licence and ideally a National Insurance number (apply now to avoid emergency tax).

Also, be sure to get a name in the bank, keep of a record of everything you do and say.

Best of luck! Lovely part of the world, though the traffic can be murder on the A34!
