Eircom have no plans to enable the Ballynacargy exchange for DSL.

(Unless I read the political map incorrectly) 2 weeks ago Ballynacargy became the only village in the country to have 2 TD's but it doesn't have broadband.

Anyone like to guess how long it will take Eircom to decide the error of its ways and move Ballynacargy to the top of the list it was never on?

The Health Boards were abolished because of people with your attitude - get resources allocated based on political influence rather than actual need.

To answer your question - I'd guess about 10 years because that's how long it will take FF to get back into power, they're the party who specialise in strokes like the one you're looking for.

Three reasons why Ballynacargy won't get Broadband any time soon....

    1. Robert Troy T.D. is in FF who are going to be a small opposition party in the next Dail.

    2. Willie Penrose T.D. will be too busy making money down in the Four Courts to be bothered. Notice how even though he is in the Dail since 1992 and has been elected a T.D. in five general elections that he was never mentioned as a possible minister in the new Government.

    3. Eircom is now owned by a Singapore company and it (Eircom) is up to it's eyes in debt so don't expect any major infrastructure investment installing broadband in rural areas any time soon.
