    Hi,
I'm 4 months pregnant and I haven't gotten the swine flu jab. I know it is recommended that pregnant women should get it but there hasn't been much talk about it recently and I'd prefer not to get it if I don't have too.
    Any advice??

Hi, I'm nearly 36 weeks pregnant and wondered the same during the height of the swine flu epidemic. It was in the media and everyone was advising me to get it. Many of my pregnant friends did get the jab but after I spoke to my doctor I decided not to get it based on the fact that I'm having a healthy pregnancy and whereas I would usually get colds through out the year (7-8), since becoming pregnant I haven't had so much as a sniffle. Either way the choice is yours. Good luck.:)

I don't really believe in he flu jab, however I did get the swine flu jab when I was pregnant purely for the immunity it would give to the baby when she was born. Their little immune systems are so immature than any head start I could give her I would. Obviously breastfeeding helped to pass on even more immunity and now at 14 months old, she has only really had one cold.
