Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

i am currently sitting with an overdue esb bill, with another one due in shortly, my last two bills have been near enough 400 euro each, and i'm having bother paying. i did make an arrangement to pay so much a week, but found myself not even being able to cover that. i am paying money when i can. now i'm worried. i have been told that the esb will now disconnect you without warning if you owe them money. is this true? i have also been told that they will no longer issue you with a powercard meter, and that you just have to make do. i have four children at home with me, and now i'm losing sleep over this. any advice?

You won't be disconnected without warning and it would be the absolute last thing they'd do. If you've made contact with them and shown that you're paying what you can you won't be disconnected trust me

    Hi bud1970,

As bassey has correctly pointed out above, we would never disconnect a customer without notice, and certainly not without making every effort to arrange a payment plan sensitive to the circumstances of the customer in question.

If your account is in arrears, we would usually recommend the following course of action:
    1. Call us on 1850 372 372. Have your MPRN and account number (found on your bill) ready.
    2. Take a look at our Energy Efficiency section for tips that could help reduce your bills.
    3. Contact MABS, the Money Advice and Budgeting Service (Ireland), a non-profit debt counselling organisation, for further advice and assistance.

The meter you are referring to (also called a budget controller, or 'token' meter) is not something we can install on request; however, other payment options, such as our 'easypay' card, are offered to help the budget-conscious customer, and can be used at your post office, or at any outlet displaying the Payzone, PayPoint or PostPoint logos.

Please PM me your account details if you would like me to look into this further for you.

    Thanks,

    David.
