Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Great to see everybody, enjoyed the weekend just a shame about the rain though.
Now most go through the shots I have :)

Oh and thanks again to sNarah for bringing my boards photobook :pac:

Going through my shots now :)

I have a grey regatta camping chair that someone seems to have left behind??

Great to see everyone again ans to meet some of you for the first time; will be going through my shots and develop the film soon, but in the meantime here are two photos from the evening session to get things started.

Having heard earlier in the day that a true artist juxtaposes and "synesthesises" and that a subject should never be recognisable; I decided to take the advice to heart and reinforce the juxtaposition between the stillness of the performance of our living statues and the frantic movement of Lightpainter Extraordinaire Dakar by using ICM techniques (either that or I had to move my camera because I couldn't get everyone in the frame otherwise and had no idea how the shot would work out...)

    5848438949_897c5af238_b.jpg

LED shows a hidden talent and mixes lightpainting with interpretive dance to show his anger at being "made to" run around a field with a light.

My work on the trip explores the relationship between the body and rural spaces. As spatial impressions become transformed through boundaried and personal practice, the viewer is left with an impression of the edges of our condition:

Rest of the digital are up at http://pix.ie/sineadw/album/413295 And film tomorrow or tuesday :)

    And I had a blast! :D

I knew it. I should've gone for my MBA :o

Took a completely different approach and have to cut down from all my excellent pictures as I can't show them all here - so that might take me a while.

But first of all: Thanks Seb for a brilliant weekend, thanks for organising it again! :) Looking forward to next year.

Sez, thanks for being a fab safety officer of the weekend, thanks for organizing to you and Terri (Terry?), and for the owners for allowing a bunch of pyromaniac nutcases back into the castle and grounds once more.

First up, a statement by the artist:

My work explores the relationship between the tyranny of ageing and recycling culture.
With influences as diverse as Camus and John Cage, new synergies are created from both traditional and modern textures.
Ever since I was a child I have been fascinated by the ephemeral nature of meaning. What starts out as triumph soon becomes debased into a dialectic of temptation, leaving only a sense of chaos and the inevitability of a new beginning.
As spatial impressions become clarified through emergent and critical practice, the viewer is left with an insight into the limits of our era.

......and what Charleville means to me......

See, I knew that by restricting you to approximately 2 seconds and no time for thinking, your innate ability and instinct would kick in and you would be able to juxtapose the inner beauty and outwardly reticent outer shell of a challenging subject...
