That's why ROG is playing Amlin and Jonny's playing HC.

Take your Leinster hat off and look at what's just happened. Think I'll tweet him later:pac:

What exactly did Sexton do wrong? Put a cross-field kick out on the full?

O'Gara did the exact same thing in the first 5 minutes, dont see how Sexton is getting blamed here.

The Welsh line out was fine. The line had not been taken quickly, it had been formed by Irish players albeit so as such it's legit. The speed of a line out being taken after it's formation is not an issue as both teams had committed into it.

WTF are you talking about? Nonsense.

in fairness the **** kick didn;t lead to the try, a crap defense did - let's not exaggerate

an illegally taken lineout is not the defences fault!
The kick Aided the creation of the try maybe.

In fairness the Welsh back three have positioned themselves well for the kicks in this match, while some of the kicks have been poor some credit must go to the Welsh back three.

So the correct response is to not kick the ball, because if you do, they deal with it, and if you don't, they've left gaps by having to be in positions to defend kicks.

Its basic strategy and we're not adapting whatsoever.

I suppose Wales dod not score a converted try from Ogaras mistake - bad pen missed afterwards probably did not help sextons case.
Plenty of time for sexton to win the match - not too hopeful though TBH

First bit of decent rugby I've seen from Earls this 6N.

Take off D'arcy - he's anonymous. Anybody would be better.

If my opinion bothers you so much ignore it. Sexton's confidence is gone after the try and penalty. We need a place kicker 3 points down - who do you suggest?

So its Sextons fault the officials got it wrong?

    Love the logic.

  • This is ridiculous. When BOD decides to kick a grubber on the Wales 10m line instead of keeping the ball in hand you know there's something wrong.

Confidence is low, the gameplan is awful, this is nightmare stuff.

As a Leinster fan, I hope Schmidt can turn these guys back into superstars when they come back from camp, because they've all gone backwards.

Whatever about the officials bad lineout mistake and Sexton's mistakes and some over the top comments on the thread, the main point is the one made by Emmet a few minutes ago - that this is a very poor quality match.

Ireland look average at best in their fourth match having been in camp for weeks. We are still underperforming for the players we have. The "rustiness" from the Italy game is still there.

Earls making good yards when he gets the ball.

Would be great to have Ferris on the bench to bring on to make some hard yards.

Don't bring Cronin on, we can't take a risk of not winning our lineouts.

    Throwing away another game

    Incorrect.

Anyway, even if this was an alternate universe where you were somehow correct, it would have been "not straight" and therefore a scrum to Ireland.

Elsewhere, Keith Earls is having his first good game in a while. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come from him.

Nothing about the forming of the lineout. You can only take a quick one if the ball hasn't been interfered with by a third party. The ball they took it with wasn't even the same ball that Sexton kicked out FFS.

Edit: I see what you're trying to say. You're still wrong though.
