Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Wow. Thank you. I’m truly honoured.

    As a long time lurker of the forum, I’ve learned so much from the fantastic posters that frequent it and I’m forever grateful. This place is oozing with talent. I’ll do my upmost to share, and post more.

    A bit about the photo – I had taken a similar shot, months ago and wanted to improve on it. So I brought a friend and a skate board to the skate park one sunny evening. I got him to stand on the board in the foreground and started shooting into the sun for a change. (Canon 1000D, f/2.8@1/125s ISO 100, UV and Polarising filters, 21mm). The park was pretty busy and I suppose I got lucky with the guy in the air to give the photo some background interest.

    The photo was very flat and the sun very overpowering in the original so I increased colours and contrast a lot, and decreased exposure a little, in Lightroom.

    I’m a first year photography student at Limerick College of Further Education. It’s pretty intense, but I’m learning so much along the way and really enjoying the challenge. And I’m surrounded by some amazingly talented students. Anyway, we have an exhibition in the South Court Hotel, Limerick at 7.30pm March 16th. This photo will be among the exhibition shots. If you’re in the area and enjoy a good photo or two, please do pop in. Or if you like wine. There’ll be free wine.

    I have another skate photo idea that I’ll hopefully get round to soon.
    Oh, and Sinead. I love that portrait. You’ve really captured something there, and the lighting is perfect.

    I don't normally like skate-board/bmx shots, not so much that i don't like them, they're just not my cuppa. but this one, I do like. A lot. Nice.

    And that Boy/Camel silhouette is gorgeous.

    All very nice captures :D
