4-3-3 by the looks of it, pity not Carroll to start.

This is on 3e and Channel 5 (cos its Thursday)

I thought Carrol was number 9?

    Edit
Andy Carroll will wear the No.29 shirt if he makes his European debut for Liverpool in tonight's clash with SC Braga.

The club's record signing cannot use his regular No.9 jersey as Fernando Torres has already donned the top for the Reds in the Europa League this season.

Carroll will continue to sport his regular shirt for Barclays Premier League matches but will wear the No.29 for however long Liverpool remain in Europe.

Looks fairly conservative. A 4-3-2-1 at a guess.

    Reina
    Carra - Kyrgiakos - Skrtl - Johnson
    -- Spearing -- Poulsen -- Lucas --
    Merieles ---- Cole

    Kuyt

Braga beat Benefica at the weekend, which should be a morale boost.

Ugh with that Liverpool line up it won't be long until I fall asleep.

Braga beat Arsenal in the Champions League group stages, and was it them that knocked out Celtic in the qualifying rounds? They are certainly no pushovers. Be very pleased with a score draw. This should be a tough game.

    Just thinking that myself!

I'm also thinking Braga have some great practice for a possible appearance at the Aviva with that stadium :D

What position does this Flanagan lad on the bench for us play?
Exciting prospect? Not heard much about him at all.

Average enough team, Liverpool should have no problem in progressing.

Ok we have Alan playing tonight. Other Brazilians of note include Fred, Jo, Cris, Deco...What odds we'll see Declan, Tommy, Mick, Donal all lining out for Brazil in the near future?

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 10,259 ✭✭✭✭Melion

Id love to know why we signed Poulsen. Spearing does what he does, but does it better and actually has a bit of heart when he is played.

I reckon a 1-1 draw maybe scrape a 2-1 win with all the action in the last 25min when Carroll comes in anf the formation changes a bit.

I always did picture mr Alan with Dreds.

I know the line-up is different tonight but why are Liverpool playing at such a different tempo as compared to Utd game.

In Utd game they were attacking them from the kick-off but here they are playing much slower and giving Braga lots of time on the ball!

The eternal question - head wrecking to know what they're capable of and just not see it.

Awful performance so far. Kenny away from home in Europe leaves a lot to be desired. Team is set out to defend.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,652 ✭✭✭I am pie

Seems to be the plan in Europe. Pretty toothless so far, haven't worked the keeper. Don't see the point of Poulsen & we have nothing happening on the right side of the pitch attack wise. Meireles playing out of position, pacheco would have been more at home in that supporting position.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,743 ✭✭✭Revolution9

The lack of intensity has been the biggest feature of our Europa League campaign so far, especially away from home. No tempo or urgency to any of our games, apart from the second half against Napoli when Gerrard saved our skins. Been painful to watch.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,142 ✭✭✭Ebbs

Bring on Carroll, hoof it up to him and hope for the best.

Thats all this team looks capable of.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,588 ✭✭✭daithijjj

Meireles needs to go around to my aunt's house for 1 or 2 'big dinners', has he ever ridden a challenge ever?, so easily pushed off it.
