Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Surround Puzzle :)

    Hi all,

    Equipment:
    Samsung LCD TV (1x scart)
    Phillips 5.1 DVD Surround with broken DVD player (1x scart)
    Sky+ (freeview, no card) (2x scart)
    Tevion DVD Player (1xscart)
    "Monster" Scart Multi-adapter (3x scart)

    They all seem to have the usual other outlets too (optical etc)


    I bought a new LCD for the bedroom. Had some old stuff lying around (Sky+ box, tevion etc) and thought I'd setup a mini cinema. As the DVD player is broken on it I want to use the Phillips DVD surround sound as an amp only - is this possible?

    I've tried different combinations but end up with overlaying picture from bot Sky and tevion dvd with sound from Sky+, or just a plain old hiss!

    Can anyone solve this puzzle for me?

    forget about multiscart if it has no switch.

    in case that you HAVE other sockets in tv/etc (first you mentioning scart only and then "other outlets too"?)
    How about connecting your stuff to tv first (so input1-sky, input2-dvd etc) then tv out (best for it would be a headphones socket) to surround system? then wahtever on tv will go to speakers.


    If i'm right you should:
    1 connect medion dvd to "vhs/recorder/whatever" socket in your sky+
    2 connect sky > tv via scart
    3 connect tv>amp via headphones socket
    or sky+ box>amp (if it has audio output) via rca>scart adaptor.
