Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Shake on Sat dish

I have Sat dish at gutter level at back of my house It has worked well with my Humax and Fortec Sat boxes since. lately I am getting a intermittent pixilation when there is a high wind as is today. I am thinking of fitting a bottom and side stay to the rim of the dish to stop the visible shake on it in high winds. Has anybody else done this . I presume it won't effect the reception. I think the vibration has also loosened one of the leads on the quad LNB

I don't think a bit of occasional shaking would effect the signal much, if you're getting 28E/Sky on at least a 60cm dish, then there should be enough margin to keep the signal level above the threshold that would cause the picture to pixelate.

What's more likely is that over time, the dish has moved from a "sweet spot" for signal reception, whether that's because of a big movement of the dish (which could be millimeters, but are significant for sat reception), or other movements of the various parts of the dish. Your dish could be in a position where if under no wind load, the signal is still above the threshold, but a small bit of wind causes it to fall over that cliff-edge between perfect reception and pixelation.

Have you looked at the signal level through the receiver menus to check if they've degraded? If the connection with the cable is loose, also make sure that that is clean, properly wired and screwed in firmly.

I am using a Humax HD HDR and the signal is 80% with quality at 100% I wonder if it is a loose connection or oxidation at the connectors of the LNB. I will check them when I next get up to it. The stays idea were to maintain the horizontal and vertical position even when hit with high winds
