Tab seems close enough alright, though there is a lot of whammy pedal usage there, it would be hard to replicate it without one. you could slide up 12 frets every time he uses the pedal (which is every note in brackets), it will sound close enough.

    So go from playing this:
    e:-|-(8)(8)(8)-8-8-8-(5)(5)(5)-5-5-5
    B:-|
    (8)(8)(8)-8-8-8-(6)(6)(6)-6-6-6-|
    G:-|*
    D:-|*
    A:-|
    D:-|

    to this:
    e:-|-20-20-20-8-8-8-17-17-17-5-5-5
    B:-|
    20-20-20-8-8-8-18-18-18-6-6-6-|
    G:-|*
    D:-|*
    A:-|
    D:-|
    and so on

This solo is done with a Whammy pedal, so if you can't get something to help you pitch shift you'll never get it sounding "right". This could be the cause of your problems?

slide up 24 frets every time he uses the pedal (which is every note in brackets)

    FYP ;)

You need a Whammy pedal for this one, set to +2 octaves Whammy.
