    Finally I'm going to catch up with the jones and get myself some decking.
    I'll be having a go at it myself , by all accounts it is straightforward enough.
    Does anybody know of or can recommend and suppliers for the material or have any of you have any little carlow nuggets of info to help me on my quest..

    Decking is lethal,not really designed for the Irish damp climate.

    I'd recommend Walsh's Homevalue hardware in Bagenalstown in the royal oak. I used to work there. They can sort you out. Ask for mark or john and they will sort you out :)
