Gardaí and taxis in City Centre

    Walking home tonight, all through Temple Bar there are a load of Garda vans and floods of Gardaí checking taxis. I mainly saw it on Fleet Street and the taxi rank beside Starbucks on Dame Street.

    Anyone know what's going on? I'm awfully nosey I know...

    Saw the same thing at the rank on O'Connell Street today - they're just checking the taxi's are all legal and above board.

    I see. I obviously suspected that at first but the sheer amount of them made me think maybe it was something else up. Thanks, curiosity abated!
