Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hi guys, I'm sure this is a stupid question, but I'll go ahead anyway.

I bought a set of logitech x-540 5.1 surround sound speakers. Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure that they are only for PC, as they have 3 inputs for them - I have a Samsung LE40C530 TV - the back of which looks like this:

I'm pretty sure that this set of speakers are for PC and are based on the fact that your soundcard translates the sound into 5.1 right? I can't even find anywhere on my TV to input any speakers into...am I wrong?

    Thanks

turn stereo input from the front speaker jack into simulated 5.1 surround with matrix mode.

So get a 3.5mm male to 3.5mm male cable and connect from the headphone output of the TV to the Logitech front speaker input socket and select matrix mode.

Ok, so bought one of those cables and connected it from the back of the TV (Headphone socket) into the Logitech, but its not working - no sound at all - selected matrix.

I'm plugging it into this part of the Logitech (the headphones plug below:)

    Am I doing it right?

Nope. A headphone jack outputs a signal. You want to INPUT a signal to the logitec from the TV's headphone socket (output.)

I don't actually have one of these, just looked up the specs, so I am assuming there are some input sockets somewhere, as mentioned in the bit I quoted.
