Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Just bought my first proper camera last week. It's a Nixon D3100. I know it's a basic level entry model, but as I know nothing about cameras, I decided to go for something that'd be easy enough to use.
So, yesterday I took my first photos with it...
This one is looking out over Lake Talt in Sligo (the weather wasn't the best);
The weather picked up by the time we reached the Ice House in Ballina...
And when I got home - despite there being 4 chairs in the kitchen - the cat had decided to steal mine, yet again....
I'm loving the camera... still haven't figured out what half the buttons are for yet, but as a long time lurker & admirer of the photography forum, it's nice to finally have something to post here!0 -

A halo (ἅλως; also known as a nimbus, icebow or Gloriole) is an optical phenomenon produced by ice crystals creating colored or white arcs and spots in the sky. Many are near the sun or moon but others are elsewhere and even in the opposite part of the sky. They can also form around artificial lights in very cold weather when ice crystals called diamond dust are floating in the nearby air.
