Betting Losses - Online

I didn't realise how much I had lost in the last few months until I checked my Betfair statement and saw that my net loss was 300 over the past few months.

In the past I have won money, quite vast sums and lost it again.

This is never the case when I walk into the bookies but when on sites such as Betfair and PP it is all to easy to go to the virtual casino when bored or bet on horse races that you have no interest in.

I have won a fair bit in bookies overall but I would say I am definitely down money overall in my betting history as when I win money I lose it which does worry me and I'm going to have to rectify it.

So what do you people think?

Is it easier to spend money online than in the physical bookmakers?

    I think this is a fantastic idea btw " www.betdash.com "

Cheltenham coming up should be fun .... :D

Set up a log in the challenges section, that is the most practical way to follow your bets and can reduce your level of 'impulse bets'.

Online its easy to blow money in running on bizarre challenger tennis matches in mongolia and footie matches from the Peruvian leauge you know nothing about. Then comes the Nhl and Nba after midnight etc etc its easier to take fustration out by betting more and potentionally loosing more. Cred card takes a hammering. Bookies close around 6pm.

I spend about a minute in a bookie shop and bemoan the fixed odds but its safer financially to walk out with a betting slip.

Think I will set up a log, and yeah thats exactly what I'm talking about.

Chasing losses, even if I'm up overall. Never happens in the shop.

Aw course it's easier to lose online.

The amount of stupid accums I used to do.
Since when do I know anything about the Argentinian league?

Exclude yourself from the casino sections of those sites for a start. It is obviously easier to spend it online as it doesn't feel like real money in the same sense as when you are physically handing over cash in a betting shop.

What withdrawal method are you using? If you use something like neteller, you can withdraw instantly when you win, with no fees if you set it up correctly. Then place a daily deposit limit of say €20 or €50 or whatever suits yourself, to prevent yourself from spunking it back in.

You haven't won anything until the money is in your bank account.

There are alot of different approaches among successful gamblers but 2 things that are common to all are
    1) All bets are recorded
    2) A % of the betting bank is withdrawn at the end of the day/week/month and put towards savings/real world expenses. 10%+ is a starting point
