Such a shltt thread.. OP, that thread is huge and I myself have read every single post in it.. The people who have contributed to the thread don't want to see it be reduced to dark humor.

There's a stickied thread on 4chan.. Doesn't happen often. But that's where to go if you have no compassion for the people caught in the disaster. boards.ie isn't the only corner of the internet.

    Jesus i dunno lol

So you think this is a **** thread great what do you want me to do ??

Again i used that thread as an example i have enjoyed reading most of it i mean i was finding it had alot of good news information in it.

There was certain elements in it and many other threads on boards.ie which i made the points to. You dont like that well what can i do :)

Can you see any difficulties that arise when people of one race or gender feel that the subjugation of others have nothing to do with them?

people have to defend themselves and the people close to them, thats it, Im sure black people are perfectly capable of defending themselves against insults , Im sure women are perfectly good at defending themselves against subjugation , Its just not my job to defend them like that

    Lol!:D

Yes, black people and women were perfectly capable of defending themselves in the last few centuries, werent they? Didnt need anyone to right the wrongs done to them!

What about those with intellectual disabilities? Not anyone elses job to look after their interests, no?

I have to say, the content of your posts display a lack of any real critical thought - and that is being charitable.

but Im not talking about them being looked after as a whole, Im talking about them defending verbal insults and jokes against their race or sex.

also with the exception of abraham lincoln most of the black rights movement in the US , and most of the black rights movement in south africa was successful because of the black people themselves

the same as the womens rights movement, they didnt have a majority white male army to enforce their rigths campaign

I've been there, done that :D
From discussion about unfair prices online vs shop (nothing serious and about some business, not conected with anyone involved) ended up being violently and rude attacked online by group of people bringing out stuff i have posted mths ago and nothing to do with topic (like my rant about DH or kids being bold :D ), just because they run out of arguments regards subject. And i still dont know why it happened, cause they all seemed friendly before, just as i kept disagreeing with most of them, they attaced (ok there were few who simply kept distance, but they didnt came to support either). And i made my point with numerous samples, documents etc, thats was 100% clear for everyone that truth is on my side.
Since im gone from that forum and good for that - found lots of lovely discussion pals else were.
p.s. still havent found like minded people who wouldnt be afraid to say what they think even if its uncomfortable. I would prefer my fried to tell me that my (whatever, like make up) sucks, rather than smile and pretend its perfect and im like a fool all day.

Where do you think discrimination and subjugation begin? How do you think discrimination and subjugation flourish? It is people with your attitude that allow such things to occur.

You need to examine history in a little bit more detail. While movements of women and black people were a huge part of equal rights being granted, the growing 'offence' that non-blacks and non-women took to the subjugation of blacks/women was as much a part of the solution. Without good people taking 'offence' to their treatment, these changes are likely to have never occured. At the end of the day, those that made the fundamental changes that led (and continue to lead to) equal rights, were not (mainly) black, and were not (mainly) women.

I get what you're saying OP. unfortunately on boards and probably other internet forums, and indeed with many groups of people in real life, an alternative point of view just isn't acceptable.
I agree. I posted a (what I felt was legitimate) reason why I didn't agree with gay adoption and got torn apart by some users as if I had ran out into the street and shouted that I hated gays. So now I've taken onboard the "if you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen" attitude and don't share any opinions that don't conform to the PC norm.

However I have great respect for the Japanese and their culture and feel really sad for them right now, so I think in this case I do share the acceptable view.

Yes, these things concern us all but it doesn't mean that we all have to get personally offended about these issues.

Getting offended is a waste of energy. You can still see something is wrong without getting offended and angry.

o, i would love to go in to this subject, but i would deff would be banned :D
p.s. i thing too many africans are stuck in selfpitty the same as jews. And im not racist, just want people to be fair - why child in Africa is more important than one next door? Just because somebody long time ago did something to these people? Get over it! There have been wars at the same time in Europe and America, but we didnt choose to selfpitty, but choose to fight back. And lots of men, women, children died while it happened, probably more (by precentage) than ever in Africa.

Listen let me get this across once and for all cause i think some people think i have a personal thing with not giving a **** about Japan and there situation lol.

I think what happened over there was awful one worse things to of happend to a single country in history and i would never of wished it on them as i hold no grudge with Japan or its people infact i have for a long time wanted to visit the country as it looks amazing.

I only used the Japan situation as an example of where people can say things and its the norm and if u dont fully agree your wrong because a bigger group then you says so.

Absolutely. Israel could do something completely evil and you'd be accused of being anti-semitic for not agreeing with it.

It depends on what being offended means. I dont mean tearing yourself up with rage and boxing the head of someone who says something offensive.

I am 'offended' by many things. It leads me to rationally question those who take such views. It leads me to challenge and belittle their position. It leads me to do a multitude of different things. Above all, I hope that those people will think twice the next time they wish to publicise their offensive views. But except in certain exceptional circumstances, it doesnt raise my blood pressure a notch (well, no more than being stuck in a queue does). I dont expend any excess energy on it.

What I take exception to, is the attitude of those who believe that it has 'nothing to do with me' and literally do nothing. Those who do not challenge such views make it more likely that that view will gain traction in the future. And that is shameful.

could do ? , more like do on a daily basis, im not going to get fully into my views on isreal here, I know a lot of jews disagree with isreal but its still the number 1 source of anti-semetism in my book , without isreal im sure the jews would suffer a lot less persecution worldwide

I think Japan is bad sample, cause it like talking about dead - good or nothing. I know in some news formums there are disabled coments with similar news or they are heavy censored. I agree with that.

But there was time when musician died from overdosing and i just simply couldnt stand peoples' mourning about him as great personality and sample for kids. It made me physicly sick thinking that my kids should be wanting (???) t0 become druggy! That was majorities opinion - that it doesnt matter what he did, only music matters.(sorry my grammar - twisted my wirst, not broken thg, but paaaaain, so im lovely painkilled :D )

OP - Ya see there is no 'normal view' here in AH, because we all have different views and opinions. We might be left-wing, right-wing, no-wing, liberal or conservative. However, we all share a common sense of humanity and empathy when we witness the horror and tragedy that occurred in Japan.

You don't have to live in Japan, nor have some vested interested there in order to empathise with them. Your perfectly within your rights not to share in this sentiment, but this is probably a good time to keep your views to yourself. Otherwise you could be mistaken for a Sociopath.

Yes, the persecution of the Jews has gotten much worse since Israel was established......:D

That makes me wonder - why people so much love those who talks only about nice things and never argues, never disagrees? I know many who are doing that. And then behind backs tell out what they really think, you couldnt never trust them, you could never rely on them, cause they always put their personal wellbeing first. No matter what they say upfront. And they will be unjudged no matter how many times they would fck up, cause people would feel uncomfortable to judge "such a nice person". But they arent! Not for singe moment, cause even when they say nice things, most of times, they dont mean them.

OP, one of the norms is that anyone who points out bad grammar or incorrect spelling is condemned as a nazi pedant. But you keep using "where" when you mean "were". Do you know the difference?
