Here at Airbound we are delighted to confirm we'll be returning to London on the Easter Bank Holiday weekend to throw a mammoth 24 hour party, on a boat, in club and winding down in a seedy little east end boozer. Ramping up significantly on last year’s festivities, the boat - which will again be the centrepiece of the event - will be larger and will have two floors of music. The boat will set sail on Saturday 23rd April on the River Thames for four hours, taking in breathtaking views of London while those on board get down to a soundtrack of funk, soul, swing, disco, boogie, house and beyond.

After the boat party draws to a close there will be an exclusive Airbound after party held in one of London’s most popular venues; Corsica Studios, which is a stones throw from where the boat moors. This venue, which is run as an independent arts centre, has developed somewhat of a name for itself for hosting some of the most cutting edge underground music events in London.

As part of a much expanded line-up this year Bodytonic, Downtown Sounds, Shock and Nightflight DJs will be joined by London based brass outfit, Brassroots, Ireland’s answer to Mr Scruff, DJ Kormac, Simon Conway of Electric City fame, Steve Egri, Belfast Music Club, Saoirse Ryan, Paul Fanning, Dave Magnier, Dave McDonagh, Guy Hornsby and the External Sounds Crew from Drogheda, among many more.

Headlining the party will be Brassroots, a 9 piece brass band formed by American trombonist Jerome Harper. Exploding onto the scene in 2010 with their cover version of Inner City’s ‘Good Life’ they have featured at some of the UK’s top festivals like Bestival, Lovebox, Glasto, The London Jazz Festival and Scala. The guys bring pure energy when they play, and with their covers of Radiohead, White Stripes, Michael Jackson and Good Life nestled along side some original pieces they put on one hell of a show.

Dublin born DJ and Producer Kormac will be joining Brassroots on the bill, and he will be treating the Airbound faithful to one of his unique scratched-up genre-bending, dancefloor orientated dj sets. Having performed at some of the largest festivals across Ireland and the UK, including a scintillating set at Glastonbury with his Big Band, an 11 piece orchestra, he has garnered a solid fan base and is no stranger to entertaining a discerning audience.

All tickets for the boat party are now sold out but you can still join in at the after party and advance tickets are available for a very reasonable £5 from www.residentadvisor.net
