Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

puncture

Like those before me I too am now victim to Monday morning puncture. Can't find the hole in the tyre for the life of me, so must be a proper cut as it is flat as it gets. To date I've been lucky with nails where the pressure stays up and you can drive over to your favorite tyre place.

I read about the bottle of tyre weld you can get to do a temp repair, but does it get enough air in too to get me to the nearest petrol station to add some more?

I have an awful feeling I'll be calling the rapid recovery guys. Can anyone recommend the nearest place for tyres. I'm near Donaghmede. There aren't too many places open early in the week.

A can of tyre foam will inflate it enough to get it to a garage but make sure the tyre hasn't come off the bead - that its sealed all the way around the edges. Heat the can in a jug of warm water for best operation.

Any mobile tyre repair place can put a plug in the tyre or a patch inside it but this is only to get you to a tyre replacement shop.. Don't ride on a patched or plugged tyre for any longer than necessary to get it replaced.

Thanks for the response. I suppose I didn't really need to start a new thread as the older ones set me on the right track and a bit og googling let me know what the tyre weld stuff did. I was mainly interested to know if there are any bike places open in Dublin on a Monday and I think the answer is no.

Anyway got to Halfords yesterday and 18 euro later had a 500ml can of tyreweld. Used it this morning and crawled my ass to Cotters and got a new back tyre.

The silver lining is that I actually needed a new rear anyway as was a bit into the thread depth marker.

All is well again but for my pocket being a bit lighter.
