Renting a house in California

    Hi heading to california for 1 week in Sept.Thinking of renting a house around pacific highway near beach with the familly.Has anyone done this?
    Any info would be great or info on good website.

    I used to live in Santa Cruz and used these places a few times when my parents came over to stay.

    ("Pacific highway" is a little vague though. I suspect you want southern california.)

    Well flying in to San fran thinking Santa cruz Monterey that area.want to head to yosemite on a day trip would this be possible from these city's? Looking for a nice quiet area by beach as it's a family holiday

    Ah well try those links I posted. They're both good reliable agencies.

    Santa cruz county is the north side of monterey bay, monterey is on the south side. Santa cruz is sheltered and beachy while monterey is more windswept.

    Within santa cruz county, the city (town!) of santa cruz has a big beach and funfair but isnt the best for a vacation rental house. For that try Capitola, just south of santa cruz:

    Or Aptos, which is just south of Capitola. Most of the houses along the beach road would be rentals:

    The weather will be nice in September and the beaches are great but the water is Cold.

    I've never actually driven it but it looks like about a days drive. You certainly wouldnt go there and back in a day. It would be a beautiful drive though.

    You'd like capitola I think. The funfair in santa cruz is a few miles north and monterey is about an hours drive south. San Fransisco is about 2hrs drive north.
