I think it is going to be fairly well balanced. Both factions have a lot of history and tradition which fans can relate to, I don't think it will be too biased to one side. Your experience I suppose all depends on the server populations and battleground configurations. I moved server in WoW a few years ago to reduce a 30 min BG queue to 30 seconds, without a doubt the best choice I ever made and if it comes to an issue like that in SWTOR a server transfer could be the solution. Not that anyone wants to pay money to transfer a character and hopefully the BG setup will be flexible enough to reduce queues.

also remember that Huttball is a cross faction warzone, so that in itself will reduce the waiting times somewhat. Hopefully they will bring out a few more cross faction warzones too. But i think alot of people will want to play both factions unlike in WoW. Because the 4 classes on each side are similar to the 4 on the other, many people will choose to play a class with the visual effects they prefer the most, in my case i prefer the jedi consular to the sith inquisitor.
So my main will be imperial agent as sniper, but my second char i plan to have is a consular. I think many people will be making choices likewise

I typically go for RPPVP servers.

I don't RP but I do find that in some games (wow being one example) that if you join a plain PVP server you tend to get a lot of XBox Live type players which isn't what I want to encounter when I play.

So by joining a role playing pvp server I usually get pvp, fun and generally slightly more mature/older players.

Just a quick question:

Will all RP servers be pvp or will there be rppve and rppvp?

When I search for guilds on the website it just says pvp, pve or rp as opposed to specifying whether the rp server will be pvp or not.

I want RPPVP.

SDK are a UK / Irish guild and we are on "Ahto City"

Imperial to Rebel guilds are around 2:1 - we may look for a new home and maybe join with another guild on a more evenly populated server.

Anyone getting the sense that it's all Imperial on the EU side?

I dont know why my posts have caused you any problems, i practically spammed several threads with the news of EGB merging with ATT. Set up a thread dedicated to the idea of an irish server with list of server types and irish guilds so they could set up alliances and adversaries. Unless you have no been paying attention for the past few weeks
