Rip offs?

It's pretty common in metal. Just look up the YouTube series "Metal that sounds like other Metal"
Big name acts are guilty of this aswell. For example

Patches of Dream Theater songs are like Metallica (This Dying Soul is like Blackened) and then BFMV's Scream, Aim, Fire is taken from part of Endless Sacrifice. Happens whole time

i'd say it is bound to happen, the amount of times i've played something "new" only to realise , or have it pointed out to me, that it is not:rolleyes:

direct plagerism is a different story and not cool unless credited.

as in that sanitarium link above, both sound cool and unique so happy days!

The chorus melodies of these are uncanny. I remember hearing the later for the first time and couldn't help but burst into "ooooooh she's a little runaway....."
