Were heading over to Donegal tomorrow to watch the Parade. We usually have a meal in the Abbey before the parade but would like to try somewhere different this year. Can any one recommend an alternative spot serving lunch close to the town centre? (not too expensive!)

Four lanterns is an ideal spot to grab some lunch on St.Patricks day. Its easy on the pocket and has been listed in the Michelin guide for good food.

Harbour Restaurant, down next door beside the fine eatery that is the 4 Lanterns :D Not sure if it's open during the day though?

Central Hotel is now revamped too and maybe worth consideration.

Worth mentions to Toni's Bistro or Krusty Kitchen worth mentioning too.

The harbour is nice. I like pier 1 also. Nice view from there and a good bar downstairs.

The restaurant at Keys Garage in Laghy does a fantastic deal, soup and a main course for 10 euro all year round.

    Great value.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. We ended up going to Dom's Pier 1 where we had a good honest feed for a very reasonable price. The parade was well varied and full of colour. Spent an hour or so in the Abbey afterwards. Credit due to Donegal Town and it's people for another successful St. Patrick's Day.

    Glad you enjoyed your day!!
Your pics are great... Was looking at your third picture of the pipe band, where else but Donegal would you find a Taxi driver that is awkward enough to leave his car in the taxi rank during a parade..??
