I know the "tune" of a song, but...

...can't remember the title or artist.

One thing I do know is, the start of the song is kinda mixed/blended in with the end of another song.

Also, there is a sound effect of what sounds like an old, heavy hall door being closed. You can also hear what sounds like the door knocker bouncing against the door.

Then a warm synth pad starts playing and with kick drum and tambourine

It's driving me nuts. Any ideas?

Genre would be, soft rock maybe...

Hard to know if it's well known & i can hear the singers voice in my head but can't remember the lyrics.

For some reason I have Mike Oldfield in my head but could be wrong.

that beat you're talking about, if it's the one from the billy joel song, is a phil spector beat - like "be my baby"

Since you know the tune, this might help, just tap the rhythm of the melody using your space bar. I tried it out with some songs and it seems to be hit and miss.
