Non tech savvy question re eircom broadband

    Sorry, I'm really very non tech minded.

    My question is;
    Am I charged by eircom for all the time the modem is left switched on or only for the time that I am actually connected to the internet on the laptop?

    If you pay per month for your broadband, then you can leave the modem on all you like and are only charged your monthly set fee.

    Broadband isn't charged by time, it's charged by usage.
    The modem uses so little that it's not even worth mentioning.
